Free ice cream = great networking?
… I do think so. Attending roughly 5-6 conferences a year, one always wonders what makes some conferences more successful than others, or even better more rememberable.
The quality of presentations, the location and venue, the overall set-up, the quality of discussions, the people you meet … but at the end it is about the overall experience.
We have all seen the “networking breaks”, the free booze at cocktail receptions, but to do a two and a half hours ice cream break is new.
Free Ben & Jerry’s anyone? While one likely could put this away as a marketing gimmick, I think it is brilliant. Who doesn’t like ice cream? I do think free quality ice cream makes for good networking.
